Due dates that fall on a weekend or public holiday move to the next business day. If you’re an instalment filer, instalments are due separately.

Questions
- When is a quarterly GST/HST return due?
- One month after the end of the quarter. A quarter ending March 31 is due April 30, and so is the tax owing.
- When is a monthly GST/HST return due?
- One month after the end of the month it covers.
- When is an annual GST/HST return due?
- Three months after your fiscal year-end. The exception: a sole proprietor with a December 31 year-end files by June 15 but must pay by April 30.
- What if the due date is on a weekend?
- If it falls on a Saturday, Sunday or a public holiday the CRA recognizes, your return or payment is on time if the CRA receives it on the next business day.
