Electronic signature agreement

1. 1. What you are signing

   When you tick the box and send your application, that is your electronic signature on the application as you sent it: the details about you and your business, the owners you listed, the documents you uploaded, and the permissions you gave when you started it — to share it with the lenders who may fund it, to check credit, and to our terms and privacy policy.

   You are also confirming that what you sent is true and complete to the best of your knowledge, and that you are allowed to sign for the business.

2. 2. It counts the same as ink

   You agree to sign electronically, and that your electronic signature has the same effect as signing a paper copy by hand. Canadian law recognises electronic signatures, and we rely on yours the way we would rely on a signed page.

3. 3. What we record when you sign

   The date and time you sent it, the internet address and the device or browser it came from, the version of this agreement you agreed to, and the application exactly as it stood when you sent it. That record is how we, and a lender, can show later what was signed, when, and by whom.

4. 4. Your copy

   You are entitled to a copy of what you signed. Ask us for one at any time at [email protected].

5. 5. Receiving things electronically

   You agree that we can give you documents and notices about your application electronically — by email and in your account — instead of on paper. To use them you need an email address you check and a way to open a PDF. Keep your email address up to date in your account so they reach you.

   You can ask for any of them on paper, and you can withdraw this agreement to receive things electronically, by writing to [email protected]. Withdrawing does not undo a signature you have already given, and it may mean we cannot carry on with an application through this site.
